Inside the cabin is a Driver Attention System consisting of a camera integrated on top of the steering column and infrared emitters integrated into the steering wheel. These components help ensure the driver is paying attention. To determine if your vehicle has the Lane Change on Demand feature, visit the settings menu on your touchscreen. If you see an option that says “Super Cruise Lane Change”, you have this feature. If you do not see this prompt, your vehicle is not equipped with the Lane Change on Demand functionality. Remember, when you’re using Super Cruise, you must pay attention while driving and should not use a hand-held device.

COMPATIBLE ROAD MAP

Super Cruise† and Adaptive Cruise Control† will disengage. GMC vehicles that are equipped with Super Cruise can drive on over 400,000 miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada. Use the map below to search for compatible U.S. roads for your next trip.

SHOP FOR YOUR PERFECT PLAN

The Super Cruise Package on 2018, 2019 and 2020 models includes 3 years of connectivity to support functionality, after which a Connected Services† plan must be purchased. For its mapping data, GM contracts with a Michigan-based company called Dynamic Map Platform, which operates a fleet of vehicles that scan “every mile of road” using lidar laser sensors, Craig said. Those maps are then fed back into GM’s central system, which pushes out quarterly software updates to ensure each vehicle is operating with the most updated version of the map. “GM is all-in on safely deploying Super Cruise as we make the technology available on more vehicles, more roads and for more people to enjoy. High precision LiDAR mapping gives us an operating domain where we are confident in Super Cruise’s abilities.”– Anantha Kancherla, GM vice president of ADAS.

Driving Considerations

The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Visibility, weather and road conditions may affect feature performance. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for more important feature limitations and information.

I’M ON A COMPATIBLE ROAD ARE THERE ANY OTHER LIMITATIONS ON USING SUPER CRUISE?

The Super Cruise system will be disabled until the ignition is turned off and back on. •    The Super Cruise system has determined that the vehicle is not centered in the lane lines. Once the vehicle has been centered in the lane lines, the white Super Cruise steering wheel icon will display in the instrument cluster indicating that Super Cruise is available. Automatic updates via your OnStar Super Cruise plan will occur for the latest Super Cruise road availability information. Super Cruise will use the Adaptive Cruise Control† set speed; however, if you have not set the Adaptive Cruise Control speed when Super Cruise has activated, it will use your current speed as the Adaptive Cruise Control set speed.

In cases when vehicle speed is greater than the set speed, Super Cruise Set Speed will be equal to the vehicle speed. When set speed is above maximum allowed Super Cruise speed, Super Cruise Set Speed will be equal to the vehicle speed if under the maximum allowed Super Cruise speed. So whether it’s pulling a utility trailer for a home project or an RV for a camping trip, drivers not only have plenty of power under the hood but can let Super Cruise give their hands a rest while keeping their eyes on the road.

Super Cruise™ vehicles are also connected to OnStar® Emergency Services,† so Emergency-Certified OnStar Advisors can assist drivers should they become nonresponsive while Super Cruise is active. Super Cruise is a hands-free driver assistance feature introduced to the GM family of vehicles in 2017. It uses adaptive cruise control technology and car-connected services to navigate LiDAR-enabled map data using real-time positioning, cameras, and sensors. In order to operate Super Cruise, you must have an active and eligible OnStar Super Cruise plan. Super Cruise vehicles are also connected to OnStar Emergency Services†, so Emergency-Certified Onstar Advisors† can assist drivers should they become non-responsive while Super Cruise is active. With an attentive driver, and under the proper conditions, Super Cruise-equipped vehicles can permit hands-free operation of the vehicle.

The ultimate connected vehicle

If an Adaptive Cruise Control† speed was not previously set, Super Cruise will set your current speed as the cruise speed. The Bahamas are located in the Atlantic Ocean, less than 100 miles from Florida. Cruise ships often visit Nassau or a private island like Half Moon Cay or Castaway Cay.

More than 352,000 kilometres (218,000 miles) of Divided and Compatible Highways

Available Cadillac Super Cruise offers the ease and convenience of hands-free driving on compatible highways. Lane Change on Demand†By simply activating the turn signal on select Chevy vehicles, Lane Change on Demand will look for an opening in the desired lane and change lanes without any further input from the driver. The Super Cruise symbol will then turn red and you will need to immediately retake control of the vehicle. On some vehicles, when all other driving conditions are met but your vehicle is not centered in your lane, the Super Cruise symbol will light up blue until your vehicle is centered in your lane. •    There is no map information available for that portion of a controlled access road. Recent road reconstruction may turn off Super Cruise for that section of road until new map information is available.•    The vehicle is not on the correct type of road.

To reactivate Super Cruise, center the vehicle in the lane and wait for the light bar to turn green. When you’re on a compatible road, turn on your vehicle’s Adaptive Cruise Control and set a speed. Then look for the white Super Cruise steering wheel symbol in the driver information center. Simply push the Super Cruise button on your steering wheel (it looks like a steering wheel) to enable. The light bar at the top of your steering wheel turns green when Super Cruise is active.

Super Cruise will not brake the vehicle when approaching an intersection that is controlled by a traffic light or stop sign. It is important that you always stay engaged and vigilant at all times while driving. Super Cruise† is a hands-free driver assistance technology for compatible roads. Super Cruise uses advanced technologies to provide the ease and convenience of hands-free driving. As easy as 1, 2, 3 — enable Super Cruise hands-free driver technology in three simple steps. While enabled, Super Cruise works with Adaptive Cruise Control† to control acceleration and braking, and with OnStar to ensure that your vehicle receives the latest updates.

Multiple cameras and sensors work in tandem to help keep you traveling in your lane. Some features shown may have limited, late or no availability. The Super Cruise system is a highly sophisticated system and should only be serviced by technicians with the proper training, tools and safety instructions, which are qualifications Chevrolet dealers have.

Super Cruise is not a crash avoidance system and will not steer or brake to avoid a crash. Super Cruise does not steer to prevent a crash with stopped or slow-moving vehicles. Experience more than 200,000 miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada in Bolt EUV and more than 400,000 miles of compatible roads for other select Super Cruise enabled Chevy vehicles†. For your next trip, use the map below to search for compatible U.S. roads. With an attentive driver, and under the proper conditions, Super Cruise can permit hands-free operation of the vehicle.

In order to control acceleration and braking and maintain a driver-selected following gap time with Super Cruise,† both Adaptive Cruise Control† and Forward Collision Alert† must be active. Super Cruise† includes the latest map updates and an innovative Driver Attention System to monitor that you’re paying attention to the highway ahead. It is important to always remember that Super Cruise is a convenience system and cannot accurately detect all situations. It cannot drive the vehicle or replace your responsibility to be attentive and ready to take control at any time.

In the event that a map update is not completed within seven months, Super Cruise† will be disabled. General Motors may be struggling when it comes to fully autonomous driving, but the company is still feeling bullish about the future of hands-free driving. Today, it announced plans to expand its Super Cruise advanced driver-assist system, which allows drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel on certain roads, to cover nearly double the number of miles it did before. With Lane Change on Demand (offered on select 2021–2023 Super Cruise-equipped vehicles, excludes 2022 and 2023 XT6), Super Cruise can steer to perform a single lane change under certain conditions when requested by the driver. Let go of the wheel and enjoy hands-free driving on over 400,000 miles of compatible roads. More than 200,000 miles of Compatible Roads†Available in the U.S. and Canada.
